Volunteer and Leadership is a success planning program that strives to prepare our members like you for higher learning and the workforce.
You acquire skills outside your core curriculum in our distance learning programs. You receive V&L micro credentials for your efforts.
Your leadership and service actives reinforce skills learned in your micro-credential achievements utilizing our unique engagement. Our tool delivers checklists with every event to ensure an enriched user experience with micro credential skill needs built in.
Volunteer and Leadership tracks your activities, charts your progress and combines your participation in comprehensive reports that enhance higher learning and job applications.
Competencies like soft skills. career planning, financial literacy, project management, marketing and sales, and more are ultimately engaged reinforcing your skills by acquiring credentials in our distance learning programs. Those skills are mastered with our independent study, business internship and CO-OP opportunities.

V&L target businesses to include IT, Web Development, Health and Human Services, Sales and Marketing, Environmental and Waste Management, Veterinary Science, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Construction, Landscape Architecture, and more. V&L works closely with our business members to ensure our student members have access to independent study and private instruction, work-study, internships and even Co-OPs.
In addition, Volunteer and Leadership works with trades to includes vocational study apprenticeship programs.
Our business community will ensure students develop soft skills, develop credentials, work In a team, acquire leadership skills, master time management, grow in professional development, provide work activities that promote resume builders, our connections with students and businesses will allow our student members to network, which will lead to internships and career development.
Business partnerships strengthen the Volunteer and Leadership Program. The generous sponsorship and investment in learning modules teach valuable on-boarding training, which enables service to acquire on-the-job training, and provides opportunities for part-time or full-time positions.
Why are MICRO-CREDENTIALS Important?
Outside the classroom you can learn and become accredited in marketable skills. You can gain experience applying these new skills when you Serve, Lead, Fundraise, Learn, and Engage in Business Opportunities.
